Leadership skills for today's World

Leadership skills are one of the most sought after all through the history of learning.

Leadership is probably one of the carry-over behaviors from our primate History. In the animal world, a leader is either the strongest, the fastest or the physically superior one. Often, the leader would have many female companions.

When a situation calls upon you to demonstrate leadership skills, those skills need to come to the fore naturally and instantly. And because all good leaders share the same qualities, you can imprint these upon your unconscious mind using hypnosis.

I suggest you try this hypnosis download on leadership

It was quite common to have fights to get the position of a leader. In the human world, it is not any different although we may have improvised the ways in which we determine our superiority over others. History tells us that in the ancient times, most often Leadership positions like that of a king were passed on from father to son  i.e. it was a genetic inheritance.

This is one of big contrasts in today's world.

All our life we may have been told that leaders are born, and skills of leadership are passed on through genes. We have seen some remarkable exceptions to this rule even in the history books and as we move ahead, we will see that even more often.

The new mantra for leadership skills is the ability of a leader to lead. It is not solely determined by his genealogy. Any body can be a leader today if he demonstrates his leadership qualities and if he can attract a group to follow his ideas.

The leaders of today don't go to a special school.

They are just the graduates of the school of life. They are common people like you and I who develop their leadership skills. Most of the times it is a matter of chance than design. That's right.

Most of the leaders happened by chance. Take Martin Luther king Jr. for example. What can you see in his past that made him one of the most remembered leaders of today?

It was not just because he was Black. There were millions of Blacks, but only one Martin King. Why would that be so? One thing which stands out is his beliefs. His beliefs about equality and his struggle for justice are some of the reasons why we all cherish him so much today.

The most cherished and remembered leaders of the world did not start their day asking 'what can I do today to display my leadership skills?' No that is not the question they would have asked themselves. I think they would have asked something along these lines:

What value can I add to some one's life today?

How can I do this job even better?

What else can I do today to make my friends/colleagues/neighbors to take action on their beliefs?

How can I help others understand importance of their contribution towards the Organization/ Community/Country?

What can I do today to affirm my beliefs and my principles?

How well did I communicate today and what could be improved?

What things did I learn about myself today?

There is one important thing to remember though. All these things are not applicable for politicians. I have no interest in them. In spite of being an optimist, I do not believe that we have anything called an honest politician. Its almost an oxymoron.

My aim here is to equip you with some principles and techniques using which you can develop your leadership skills and design your own success strategy.

But I doubt if any of the great leaders of the world became who they are just by reading self help books. From a recent survey it was discovered that most of the leaders read books which help them open themselves to unlimited possibilities.
